Abrasive belts on paper backing are made to measure in all sizes, most often for joinery belt sanders, wide-belt contact sanders, edge sanders and similar machines.

Paper-backed belts with ZIRCONIA grain have recently been in high demand for belt grinders working stainless steel tubes, sheets, flat bars, rosettes and similar parts.

Depending on the application and the load, paper-backed belts are supplied on different paper weights:

  • A, B, C backing – mostly used for sanding sheets and rolls, rarely for belts
  • D backing – for belts in finer grits
  • E backing – for most normal sanding conditions
  • F backing – for heavier loads (hardwood, high glue or filler content, levelling)
  • G backing – for the heaviest conditions: floor sanding discs, grinding stainless steel and similar
